Merry Met Folks and welcome to my new blog to accompany my book 'Adventures In Nature'. The book is due to be published next month with The History Press and explores story and nature using practical activities, crafts and recipes. The book contains 48 stories and 48 associated activites.
Starting in July I will be posting once a week on the theme of the story for that week. The first story for July is 'A New Home For Herman,' and the activity is rock pooling. You are invited to read the story together from the book and complete the activity. Then visit the blog for extras such as experts sharing their hints and tips or how we completed certain activities, plus you can share your own adventure in the comments below each post.
Here's a little more about the book:
'Adventures in Nature' offers plenty of different ways for families to connect with the earth through a mixture of original stories and traditional tales. As our ancestors did before us, the book follows the seasons contained in the Wheel Of The Year with each entry focusing on a story that connects us to natural world, accompanied by simple craft projects, activities and mindful moments. In our busy modern lives we have become increasingly disconnected with the world around us. Story is an age-old way of re-establishing that link, nurturing a love for the environment and embedding awareness and respect for the planet within our culture. This book allows you to discover your very own adventures in nature through story.'
If you haven't already, then you can pre-order the book here. I hope to see you in July for 'Adventures In Nature'.
