Cold one for my long sit this morning. Had to bust out the wooly hat. The sun was high with a bitter cold wind and lots of birds singing in the trees above me. A very chatty Great-Tit came said a special hello in the tree next to me and I thought I may have heard a very far off cuckoo but I couldn't be sure. It could have been a lazy wood pigeon. I rested in the nook of a beech tree today, communed with the tree and felt the earth stirring beneath my feet, until the cold wind nipped at my skin and told me to go home human.
